d) References "Girl and Beast" (1941) by Injy Efflatoun (Egyptian Surrealist) ?

The unlikely suggestion is that the tree and the flying creature merged together to become the jelly fish and the island became the shipwreck, merged with other ideas, but this also hangs on the idea that this painting by Efflatoun was recognised as being a little bit inspired by Wyndham Lewis' Battery Shelled. 
 
If exposed to the image, presumably Hergé would have allowed the impression of it in relation to what the painting itself seem to reference, to transform into part of the shipwreck idea.
