Miles Davis album Bitches Brew absorbed
into Giger's Landscape XVI painted in 1972?

Mati Klarwein's album cover for Bitches Brew

a) Taking note of Mati Klarwein's cover for the 1970 Miles Davis album Bitches Brew, something that Giger would have have found inspiring and of course during his life he became friends with Klarwein who would later pass away in 2002.

b) Looking through Giger's paintings, Landscape XVI painted in 1972 jumps out, I had decided some time ago that this painting referenced the Cybermen from Doctor Who and also connected with Landscape XV that began in 1972 but wasn't finished until the following year.

details to compare

c) The tentacle leading from a finger from each of the hands leading to the head mad up from with two opposing faces transforms in Giger's painting into a strange handlebar, and the right hand transforms into the heads and bodies of the cluster of biomechanoids. Take note also of the general slant of the whole composition as it raises to the right.
