a) Into the stargate
On 13th December 2005, I reviewed my past thoughts about this picture, and how at the at the centre is a human on a crucifix but this might even be a winged vehicle of war, but becomes like a vehicle for travelling through inner space. The animal forms forming arches either side of the top skull are perhaps wings of the angel that is the central structure the outstretched hands at the top are its hands.
Days later I thought about how it would almost a sarcophagus like vessel for the woman fused into the structure . The cathedral like environment might be a biomechanised Gaudi-ised version of the trip became for me a trip into the stargate of 2001:A Space Odyssey but biomechanised. Perhaps the familiar black monoliths of from Kubrick's movie have been transformed into the cross like vessel that reveals itself also to be a female Horus merged with a winged pantheistic version of the Egyptian dwarf god Bes.

b) Monolith associations
Giger had also noted some how the space jockey seat for Alien had also been inspired partially by Kubrick's monolith, keeping the exterior so that itcould seem normal, and the machinery could be kept inside. (see: Evolution of the Space Jockey via Stanley Kubrick's 2001)
